Rubrics for Education
Role: Lead Designer, UX, UI, Project Manager
1. Inspired Student growth through a system that gives clarity and structure
2. All designs were backed up by thorough research with input from all stakeholders involved
3. Launched a feature that had almost no negative feedback while earning the approval and saving the valuable time of paid UX practitioners
CareerFoundry's online mentored courses are built to inspire growth while retaining user retention. However, there were no established practices or guidelines for the assignments in these paid online tech courses. Through the establishment of standards, we were able to increase student retention and raise the overall quality of work for all students across the board. There was a backlog of complaints about the flow to evaluate student work that we addressed at the same time. I was allowed to play an integral role in all parts of the feature release and create an experience that encouraged retention and growth.
About the Interface
Through the original problem statement, I was allowed to do research and determine how to combat the lack of standards and guidelines involved in the student experience at CareerFoundry. From seven approaches that were vetted with internal stakeholders, to three prototypes that were tested with real users, we were able to come up with an approach that had all users' interests at heart. Check out the release videos for Students and Mentors to understand all of the details of this design solution.
